An Approximate Analysis of Variance Test for Normality. Volume VI.

Abstract

An approximate method is developed for calculating the Shapiro-Wilk W Statistic for testing a complete sample for normality for use with large samples. The W Statistic is obtained by dividing the square of an appropriate linear combination of the sample order statistics by the usual symmetric estimate of variance. (Author)
