Abstract

Fundamental aspects of stress-corrosion cracking were discussed with possible application to the diverse problems of cracking of stainless steel, particularly in nuclear reactors; of the corrosion of high- strength alloys, particularly aluminum and titanium; and of degradation of silicon nitride.
