Chalcogenide Glass Semiconductors. II,

Abstract

The report contains a review including behavior of the electrical conductivity of glassy semiconductors in general, temperature dependences of given electrical conductivity, switching, memory, thermoelectricity, and photoelectricity effects. These properties depend strongly in the composition of the materials. In comparison with the crystalline semiconductors, the chalcogenide glasses are characterized by slight dependence of electrical conductivity on impurities. Further, they show isotropy of all properties, low mobility of current carriers, and the possibility of changing the properties by wide deviations from stoichiometry. (Author)
