The Program Assembly Language of the EMG 830 Computer,
Abstract
Despite the evolution of present-day high-level programming languages to meet exacting requirements, assembly languages, closely related to machine language, are still of value. Though originally their value lay in enabling electronic programming of computers to be done at all, they may now be considered as an aid to writing programs best suited to a certain type of machine. Assembly languages in general are full-fledged members of the family of computer-programming languages and lend themselves to special needs. The authors present the program assembly language for the EMG 830 computer as an example typical of such languages.
