Surface Hardening of Bearing Steel,

Abstract

Results are presented from a study on the prospects for increasing longevity of bearings by strengthening their working surfaces by surface hardening, as well as a study of the effect that rolling has on surface roughness, hardness, residual stresses, machining precision, and wear resistance under rocking friction conditions.
