Stresses Caused by Coaxial Misalignment of Bearings and Appraising the Effectiveness of Precision Shafts and Roller Bearings,

Abstract

Methods of calculating the stresses caused by coaxial misalignment of roller bearings of precision spindles are described. The results of the calculation can be viewed as a generalized indicator of the relative quality of the spindle unit. A table of calculations performed for a diamond boring head is given. Recommendations aimed at reducing the assembly stress caused by coaxial misalignment of the bearings are made. It is expedient to increase the precision of the bearings and the spindle unit elements adjoining them. (Author)
