Question of Relaxation Oscillations of a System with Dry Friction,

Abstract

The steady state motion of a self oscillating system consisting of an elastically fastened load moving along an infinite belt is considered. Forces of dry friction and viscous resistance act on the load. It is evident from the solution of the equations of motion obtained analytically that the amplitude and period of the oscillations rise with a decrease in the velocity of the system and an increase in the load.
