The Refractive Index of a Gas-Discharge Medium in a CO2 Laser,

Abstract

It is known that the stability of the frequency of gas lasers depends on the stability of the resonator. The principle reasons for the instability of the frequency of a resonator are the thermal expansion of the construction, and a change in the refractive index of the gas discharge medium. The report is devoted to the elucidation of the mechanism of the dependence of the refractive index of a gas-discharge medium in a CO2 laser on the discharge current.
