Digital Processing of IR Scanner Video.

Abstract

Infrared line-scan video signals, collected during a 24-hour period in February, were processed in the computer programs developed on prior studies. The diurnal effects on the calculated parameters were demonstrated to be quite large, and could mask some activity changes. Large activity changes including the generation of heat in the target area would be discernible, particularly for night conditions; however the effect of sunlight may mask changes during the day if some prior history of temperature distributions in the target and the weather conditions are not known.
