Infrared Spectral Radiant Intensity Ballistic Aerial Target System (BATS) Flare,

Abstract

During May 1971 the Missile Electronic Warfare Technical Area performed a series of experiments to determine the spectral radiant intensity of flares used with the ballisitc aerial target system. This report persents data recorded and analyzed on spectral radiant intensity for selected bands of the flare. Measurements were made at different aspect angles with flares fired in a static position. The technique, calibration, data reduction, and instrumentation used in this experiment are discussed.
