Structure Theorems for Equivalence Classes in Finite Post Algebras,

Abstract

The concept of equivalence for elements of (P(n) sup m is a generalization of the notion of equivalence for one-variable functions defined on a Post chain. Several characterizations of the equivalence classes of this relation are presented, yielding considerable insight into the structural properties of this important relation. The classes are then related to various ideals and filters of the Post algebra. (Author)
