Experience in Use of Gyrotheodolites in Inspection of Points in a Geodetic Net (Opyt Primeneniya Giroteodolitov pri Obsledovanni Punktov Geodesicheskoi Seti)

Abstract

The use of gyrotheodolites for azimuth determinations on orienting points is described. The basic virtues of gyroscopic orientation are speed and independence of determination of azimuths and the capability of carrying out work independently of weather conditions, time of year and day, and physico- geographic characteristics of the operating area.
