Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory Acoustic Locator System. Volume 5. Telemetry Display System (TDS) Maintenance Manual
Abstract
The manual provides instructions for long-term maintenance of the Telemetry Display System (TDS) that is a part of the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory Acoustic Locator System. The system detects the muzzle blast from weapons such as mortrars and artillery and computes the precise coordinates of that blast. The Telemetry Display System is a portable, battery-operated unit used at a central location to display signals transmitted from distant Azimuth Processors (APs) by radio or field wire. The TDS contains four readout modules, each cable of accepting signals from eight APs (for a total of 32 signals) and displaying them in sequence on NIXIE-tube visual readouts.
