Single Channel Investigations for 5KW Clustered Channel Electrofluid Dynamic Generator,

Abstract

The report presents the results of an investigation that was conducted in support of the design of a 5 kW high charge density clustered channel electrofluid dynamic generator. As thirty Channels will be clustered in parallel for the 5 kW generator, it is desirable to design a channel which is simple, sturdy, and has good operating characteristics. In the charge production section, the geometry provides large spacing (0.100 in.) between corona producing electrodes while keeping flow area small and thereby avoids small dimensions which may be electrically critical. The voltage scheduling electrode, therefore, is used as the attractor electrode for the corona producing electrode. (Author)
