'TC', A Computer Program for Storage and Retrieval of Time Card Information Utilizing a Binary Tree Data Structure.

Abstract

TC, a CDC 3800 Fortran IV program, was written to accept time card information captured on a stand-alone CRT terminal and is a part of a management information systems development effort. Exploratory in nature, TC experiments with: Automation of leave records, reporting of time on time sheets rather than time cards, local digitization and validation of data before submission to the Comptroller, and computer data structure. Information flows from the initial time card data capture to the generation of financial reports are described. This analysis is presented in three time frames: prior to the current study, proposed inclusion of the efforts reported, and the structure today. This material should be of interest to management, systems analysts and programmers. (Author)
