On the DISA 55D15 Linearizer.

Abstract

During the course of an investigation using hot-film anemometry, the author noted that DISA 55D15 linearizers performed in a manner inconsistent with his expectations after carefully reading the instruction manual for the units. Subsequent investigation revealed an error in the transfer function of the linearizer as it is presented in the manual; the correct function was obtained from consideration of the circuitry. The new function as derived was tested experimentally and found adequate. In addition, an explanatior the observe insensitivity of the calibration of 55D15-linearized hot-sensor systems to overheat ratio is derived. (Author)
