Development and Evaluation of Inertial Microphone Headset System.

Abstract

An inertial microphone (bone conduction) headset communication device was developed for use with a damage control suit system (DCSS) to provide two-wire telephone contact between ship damage control and the system operator over sound-powered communication links on Navy ships. The headset was designed to be compatible with existing sound-powered telephone equipment. Evaluation results are reported. (Author)
