High Latitude Ionospheric Irregularieies Observed by Means of Satellite Beacons and Rocket Probes.

Abstract

Numerous height measurements of ionospheric irregularities have shown them to be located in the region 300-600 km above the ground. Observations are presented which show that there is no appreciable reduction in scintillation at 136 MHz when a satellite looses height from in excess of 1000 km to less than 300 km. (Author)
