Comparisons of Some Designs and Quadratic Forms for Estimating Variance Components.

Abstract

The study of components of variance has been receiving a considerable amount of attention by statisticians for the last two decades. However, most of the literature on the subject considers mainly the analysis and methods of estimation of variance components. Only a few investigations, on the other hand, have been done on the design of an experiment for the purpose of estimating variance components. The purpose of the work is to investigate and compare various designs for estimating both components of variance for a two-way crossed classification without interaction. (Author)
