The Pyrolysis of Tetrafluorohydrazine.

Abstract

The program has involved a kinetic study of the pyrolysis of tetrafluorohydrazine. The reaction was accompanied by pressure decrease and was found to occur heterogeneously in glass but homogeneously in passivated Monel. The reaction was therefore studied in Monel and was found to proceed at measurable rates in the temperature range 380-515C. Qualitative analysis (i.r. and g.c.) indicated the stoichiometry was 6NF2 goes to 4NF3 + N2. (Author)
