A Memory Organization for a Multiprocessor.

Abstract

The paper evaluates a memory organization for a multiprocessor with look-ahead and interleaved multi-module main memory. The organization is modeled using IBM's General Purpose Simulation System/360 Language (GPSS). System parameters are evaluated to determine the extent of look-ahead required to obtain an optimal match between each processor and memory cycle time such that memory cycle time appears to equal the processor cycle time. Measurements of memory bandwidth, instruction waste, and storage interference are presented. (Author)
