An Analogy for Understanding the Movement and Control of the Populace.

Abstract

A serious problem confronting the commander of controlling forces is exact knowledge of whether a populace movement is that of a crowd or mob. The paper proposes that a fluid mechanics analogy can be used for understanding the movement and control of the populace. Movement of the populace is discussed using a continuity equation. A program to gather experimental data to determine the validity of the analogy is discussed. Also, a conceptualized system for field implementation is suggested.
