Heat Transfer in a Reacting Porous Body during Filtration of a Gas,

Abstract

On the basis of an earlier published analytical study of heat exchange the authors make an analysis of the mechanism of transfer for the case of exothermic interaction within a porour body between an oxidizer introduced with the gas flow, and a solid or gaseous reagent. The report examines the case where endothermic conversions take place below the zone of reaction along the path of the gas flow. The authors present graphs of the dependencies of the relationship of the heat transfer and reaction rates, and also of the relative maximum temperature in the porous medium. (Author)
