Viscosity and Density of Sulfate Solutions of Aluminum,

Abstract

Data are given on density and viscosity depending on temperature and concentration for solutions obtained by the leaching of sulfate pulp from the sulfatization of nepheline concentrates, and for the solutions of potash and soda alums. It has been established that the change in density for these solutions depending on concentration and temperature has a linear nature. The quantitative dependence is revealed between the concentration of Al2O3 in sulfate solutions and density and a formula has been derived for the calculation of concentrations depending on temperature. A formula is recommended for the determination of concentrations of Al2O3 based on solution by a graphic method, thus eliminating chemical analysis. (Author)
