Instrument Landing Error Correction System.

Abstract

The document describes the analysis and demonstration of the feasibility of cancelling the ILS localizer beam distortions caused by reflections from existing or new structures by means of the Instrument Landing Error Correction System (ILECS) of the American Nucleonics Corporation. A scaled modeling technique for demonstrating and measuring the interferences caused by reflections from offending structures was developed. The model was then used to demonstrate and measure the ability of an experimental ILECS to effectively cancel the reflection from a selected structure.
