Nernst Lamp for Laser Pumping.

Abstract

The report is concerned with the application of Nernst glower (Metal-Oxide Conductors) to Laser pumping with the specific objective to produce spectral energy largely within the pumping band of the laser material, while minimizing the radiant energy elsewhere. The contract is exploratory in nature with a large portion of the effort devoted to material research and advanced spectroscopy targeted toward achieving a combination of increased efficiency and life in laser pumps.
