Expansion of Chasov-Yarskii Firebrick at Elevated Temperatures,

Abstract

Chasov-Yarskiy clays are in the Ukraine the raw materials base for the production of refractory materials for industrial furnaces. The success of their use is confirmed by many-year experience and by a series of previous tests and by the present investigation. However, it should be noted that, with use as chamotte and connecting clay of one and the same source raw material, the maximum requirements cannot be set for the bricks. Refinement of the brick should be searched for in the direction of raising the refractoriness and other properties of it by enrichment, i.e., the use of kaolin. (Author)
