Applications of Aircraft Gas Turbine Engines in Industrial Power Plants (Ispolzovanie Aviatsionnykh Gazoturbinnykh Dvigatelei v Promshlennykh Gulovykh Ystanobkakh),

Abstract

Recently, a new branch of technology, based on the use of aircraft gas turbine engines in electric and transport power plants has been developed, using both new engines and those which have been run out for aviation purposes. The mass production of aviation engines is well tuned up in economically developed countries and their great reserve, especially at the low rate with which they are operated in inductrial plants, conditions the technical and economic expedien of their use in this fashion. The basic advantages of installations with aircraft engines by comparison with specially created installations are given. (Author)
