SAAC (Large Aperature Seismic Array) Equipment and Software Performance

Abstract

The performance of the equipment and software of the SAAC (LASA) system is presented in the report. The system operates in two parts. The Detection Processor performs data acquisition and signal detection. The Event Processor selects detections to process as events, refines locations and publishes an earthquake bulletin. The performance of both processors was high. The Detection Processor operated 97% of all available time throughout the second half of the year. The Event Processor report coverage was virtually the same as DP recording coverage throughout most of the year.
