Digital Ionosonde for Monitoring the Ionosphere.

Abstract

Many years experience in ionospheric physics as well as design and operation of ionospheric sounders were the basis for creation of the Digisonde 128. By implementing the latest achievements in state of the art technology and recent advancements in solid state analog components and digital arrays, a technically sophisticated ionosonde has been realized. Although the main feature of the Digisonde 128 is the continuous monitoring of the ionosphere by vertical pulse sounding in a large frequency range, it has many features which make it the most versatile instrument of its kind. Continuous recording of ionospheric absorption at many frequencies makes this sounder a unique geophysical tool. (Author)
