Method for Studying the Structure of the Earth's Crust from Gravity Anomalies (Metod Izucheniya Struktury Zemnoi Kory po Anomaliyam sily Tyazhesti),

Abstract

The proposed method was developed for calculating the gravitational effect of two-dimensional anomalous masses occurring in the sedimentary layer and in the bases of granitic and basaltic layers. The granitic and basaltic layers are considered as being homogeneous in density. The reliability and validity of the solutions of an inverse problem of gravimetry in using the given method are estimated. Finally, the possibility of studying the density variation of one of the Earth's crust layers is shown, if the densities of the other two layers are assumed to be constant. (Author)
