Derivatives of Alkylpridines,

Abstract

Reactions of primary and secondary amines with aliphatic alpha-oxides produce N-mono- and N(1)N-disubstituted alkamines respectively. These are used as intermediates in the synthesis of physiologically active compounds and also as complexing agents for metal cations. The synthesis of nitrogen-substituted alkamines with a pyriding ring in the molecule was of interest as tridentate ligands should be obtained. The authors studied the reaction of readily obtainable pyridylethylated amines with aliphativ epoxy compounds, The corresponding pyridylethylated amino alcohols were obtained. Their reactions were studied. (Author)
