Forward Area Refueling Equipment (FARE).

Abstract

The U.S. Army has sponsored the development of the Forward Area Refueling Equipment (FARE) in response to an Army requirement for a simple to operate, lightweight, air transportable set to refuel helicopters in extreme forward areas. The FARE, intended primarily for refueling helicopters in forward area operations, is transportable by Army utility or cargo helicopters either as internal cargo or as a sling load. Emplacement of the equipment can be accomplished by two men without the use of materials handling equipment. (Author)
