Prototype Development of an Automated Data Acquisition System for a Single Channel Autoanalyzer.

Abstract

Instruments such as the AutoAnalyzer have increased productivity of data in clinical and research laboratories, but there is need to improve the efficiency of data analysis. The tedious process of manually performing waveform analysis from the AutoAnalyzer suggests the need for cost-effective automation. This report describes the work resulting from a research project which has demonstrated that modification of the Minuteman D17B Computer to provide for AutoAnalyzer waveform analysis is not only feasible but cost-effective. The D17B is a small general-purpose computer used in Minuteman I missiles. This report includes comprehensive documentation of related theory, system design, and programming required to accomplish data acquisition, control, and waveform analysis necessary to perform automated concentration analysis for a single-channel AutoAnalyzer.
