Noncrystalline Semiconductors: Electrical and Thermal Processes

Abstract

During this first six months, the high speed switching in amorphous AsTe was characterized. Digital computer simulations of the Joule heating and heat transfer processes in amorphous semiconductor switches have been performed. The ESCA (Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis) equipment with an associated computer was installed and initial studies on amorphous semiconductors using this technique are described.
