The Strength and Deformation Analysis of Flexible Balloons.

Abstract

In September, 1968, the Laboratory for Balloon Technology was established at Stevens Institute of Technology under the sponsorship of the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories. This report contains a description of the facilities of the laboratory and explains the philosophy of investigation of balloon materials and structures that inspired its establishment. The activities of the first three years are summarized; the facilities and accomplishments of the laboratory are discussed. (Author, modified-PL)
