Gas Chromatographic Determination of Water in Paint Solvents, Paint Removers, and Brake Fluids Using Porous Polymer Column Packing.

Abstract

A procedure is presented for the analysis of water in widely divergent solvent systems using gas chromatography. The separation and determination of water are conducted on a GC column packed with porous polymer, and the effect of various operating parameters on the analysis is described. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated by application of the technique to the determination of water in paint solvents, paint removers, and brake fluids. (Author)
