Informational Measurements of Language,

Abstract

The report gives the major statistical and informational evaluations for Indo-European (Russian, Polish, English, French, Rumanian, Spanish) and Turkish (Azerbaidzhan, Kazakh) languages. These evaluations (entropy, redundancy, contextual conditionality, distribution of information in word and phrase) can be used in automatic analysis and synthesis of text, and also in developing an effective method of teaching languages. The work is intended for linguists and can be used as a training aid for students and graduate students who are studying mathematical linguistics. (Author)
