SYMAP2 - An Operational Computer-Based Algebraic Symbol Manipulator
Abstract
SYMAP2, a FORTRAN computer program for symbolic manipulation of algebraic forms, is operational on the BRLESC 2 computer. FORTRAN-like formulas can be built up, combined, displayed, differentiated, modified through substitution or change of variables, and operated on in various other ways, either to verify or eliminate the need for many tedious and lengthy hand transformations. No knowledge of FORTRAN programming as such is required for use of SYMAP2. The report includes numerous examples with detailed explanation of each.
