Design and Functioning of the USAF Central Tumor Registry.

Abstract

A description of the operation and format of the USAF Central Tumor Registry is presented. The underlying philosophy -- that the major emphasis of design should be placed on the treatment received and the health status at various time intervals after diagnosis - is delineated. Field designation, codes employed, and techniques utilized are discussed. The general flow of information through the system, the preparation of required reports, and the summary of any special interest group that has been defined and retrieved are presented to demonstrate the flexibility of this system.
