Spectrum of Natural Frequencies for the System Elastic Plate/Fluid,

Abstract

A solution obtained by Diatlovskii et al (1969) to the problem of the natural vibrations of an elastic wall in a compressible inviscid fluid is used as a basis in a numerical analysis of the natural frequency spectrum of the system vibrations and of the influence of various factors on the spectrum. The analysis leads to a simple formula for calculating the natural frequencies of a cantilever plate in a fluid. Without requiring additional calculations, the formula reveals the frequency dynamics as a function of the principal parameters. (Author)
