Infrasonic Far-Field Radiation from a Turbulent Wake

Abstract

The acoustic far-field pressure and intensity due to a turbulent wake is calculated using Lighthill's free-turbulence theory. The radiation intensity is plotted as a function of the Mach number and of the ratio of wake wavelength to radiating wavelength.
