Bounds to Bending Frequencies and Mode Shape Estimates for Free Nonuniform Beams with Attached Masses. Part II. Program User's Guide.

Abstract

The report describes the use of a digital computer program for finding bounds to bending frequencies and estimates of mode shapes of free nonuniform beams with piecewise constant stiffness and mass and with elastically attached masses. Detailed instructions for the use of the program are given, along with a description of various subroutines, input and output data, and program listings. The use of the program is illustrated by an example in which the vibration characteristics are computer for a beam with two discontinuities in stiffness and mass per unit length and with three elastically attached masses.
