Measurement of Submicron Particulate Matter in the Arctic Stratosphere.

Abstract

Balloon measurements of the north and south polar stratospheric aerosol and ozone content were determined. Indicate that concentrations of these constituents in either stratosphere do not differ substantially from those observed previously at mid-latitudes. Laminar transport, thought to be a mid-latitude phenomenon, is suggested by the data near the North Pole during the Arctic winter. (Author)
