Relationship between the Theory of St.-Venant-Levy-Mises and the Theory of Small Elastico-Plastic Deformations (Svyaz Mezhdu Teoriei Sen-Venana-Levi-Mizesa i Teoriei Malykh Uprugo-Plasticheskikh Deformatsii),

Abstract

The author proves that the validity of the generalized theory of small elastico-plastic deformations provides the general condition the partial if Xi with respect to lambda = 0 where Xi is a so-called tensor of similitude and lambda is a value independent of x, y, z, but characterizing the sequence of the different stressed states of the body. From this two statements arise: (1) The theory of the small elastico-platic deformations is a particular case of the St. Venant-Levy-Mises theory of flow; and (2) For the condition the partial if Xi with respect to lambda = 0 the Hencky-Mises theory of small deformations follows from the theory of flow. Moreover, the above-mentioned condition leads to new expressions for the laws of the theory of small plastic deformations, since every intermediate stressed state after unloading may be taken as an initial state.
