Chemistry and Physics of Glass

Abstract

The report briefly summarizes work on the structural characterization of a variety of glasses by advanced methods of X-ray and neutron diffraction, studies of the effects of high energy ion-implantation on the strength of silicate glasses, and an investigation of the properties of the luminescence observed during the fracture of glasses at very high stress levels.
