Polyphosphazenes. Part I: Synthesis of Poly(Fluoroalkoxy)Phosphazenes.

Abstract

A number of phosphazene polymers have been synthesized which differ considerably in their physical properties. The first samples prepared were oils. Samples prepared in the latter part of the program were high molecular weight elastomers. Structure, stability, and physical properties of the polymers are discussed. These polymers have many desirable properties such as low cost, chemical inertness, low temperature flexibility, and good thermal properties. (Author, modified-PL)
