Recrystallization of Hydrostatically Extruded Molybdenum

Abstract

The recrystallization of Mo of various compositions was studied, and the Type I recrystallization diagrams were determined for samples that had been plastically deformed by extrusion. After deformation and thermal treatment, the microstructure, grain size, and hardness were determined. An increase in the heating temp. and a decrease in the degree of deformation resulted in a gradual change in the average grain size.
