Theoretical and Experimental Studies of the Laws of Deformation of the Aluminum Alloy AK6 Subjected to Complex Loading,

Abstract

On the basis of ductility theory, determinations were made of the connection between stress and deformation during the loading of thin walled tubular specimens of the Al Alloy AK6. The internal and external diameter of the tubes were 20 and 22 mm resp., and the loading consisted of a combined axial force and turning moment. The experiments confirmed the limits of the deformation theory of ductility as determined by the theorem of non uniform loading. Although the Budyansky criteria raise these limits, the increase in the case of the alloy AK6 is insignificant. (Author)
