Method of Preparing Multifunctional Oil Additives,
Abstract
It is shown that multifunctional additives for lubricants can be prepared by treating alkylphenols with chloral and then treating the resulting product with P2S5. To increase the effectiveness of the additive, the product was also treated with polyformaldehyde. (Author)
